Green Tea — Leaf & Lore Collection
Green Tea — Leaf & Lore Collection
Sourced from certified organic gardens on the North Bank of the Brahmaputra Valley at 102m elevation, harvested at spring flush — the season's first and finest growth. Hand-picked, pan-fired and manually rolled to produce a whole-leaf green tea of exceptional clarity, antioxidant density, and quiet, focused energy. Grown without synthetic interference. Processed without industrial shortcuts.
The Land That Made This Tea
The North Bank of the Brahmaputra Valley is one of the most biodiverse tea-growing regions in the world. Fed by glacial meltwater from the eastern Himalayas and the seasonal floods of the Brahmaputra itself, the alluvial plains carry a mineral richness that no irrigation system can replicate. At 102 metres elevation, cooler mornings slow the growth of the tea plant, concentrating flavour and bioactive compounds in each leaf.
Why This Tea Is Different
Most green tea available in India and internationally is produced through industrial CTC or machine-rolled methods that break the leaf, lose the volatile aromatics, and destroy the structural integrity that governs how slowly and evenly the leaf releases its character. Anavri Green Tea is processed the way it has always been done in artisan tea culture: hand-picked at peak vitality, pan-fired to halt oxidation, and manually rolled to awaken the essential oils.
The Art of the Leaf — Processing
- Spring flush leaves are hand-plucked — two leaves and a bud.
- Freshly plucked leaves are spread on bamboo trays for a brief, shaded wither.
- A rapid pan-searing technique (sha qing) halts oxidation and preserves the leaf's vibrant green colour and full EGCG content.
- While still warm, leaves are hand-rolled in circular motions to release essential oils and shape the leaf.
- Rolled leaves are dried at low temperature to remove remaining moisture and fix the final shape.
- Sorted by hand — broken leaves, stems and substandard material removed. Only whole leaves proceed.
- Tested for pesticide residues, heavy metals and microbiological safety, then packed in sealed, light-proof pouches.

Vitality Benefits
- Metabolic clarity — harvested at spring flush, the period of maximum EGCG concentration, associated with AMPK activation and fat oxidation.
- Antioxidant shield — catechins, flavonoids and polyphenols preserved fully by immediate pan-firing.
- Focused calm — L-theanine and caffeine together produce relaxed alertness: clarity without anxiety.
- Cardiovascular support — EGCG and ECG support healthy LDL oxidation levels and endothelial function.
- Blood sugar balance — polyphenols slow carbohydrate absorption by inhibiting alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase.
- Skin health — polyphenols protect against UV-induced oxidative damage and support collagen synthesis.
Brewing Guide
- Water temperature: 80°C — never boiling. Boiling water destroys L-theanine and makes the tea bitter.
- Quantity: 2.5g per 200ml (approximately one rounded teaspoon).
- Steep: 2–3 minutes with the cup covered to trap volatile aromatics.
- Remove leaves promptly — over-steeping releases tannins and creates bitterness.
- Re-steep up to three times. The first infusion is bright and grassy, the second softer and sweeter, the third gentle and floral.
- For maximum EGCG, steep at 75–80°C for the full 3 minutes. For maximum L-theanine, use 70°C water and extend to 4 minutes.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture and strong odours. Green tea absorbs aromas readily — keep sealed when not in use. Do not refrigerate without an airtight container. Best consumed within 18 months of packaging for peak flavour and bioactive potency.

We have been buying the A2 bilona ghee for four months now. The difference from what we used to get at the supermarket is not subtle. My mother noticed it before I even told her we switched.
Ordered the wildflower honey on a friend's recommendation. Finished the first jar in three weeks. The fact that I can look up the batch report myself was what got me to order the second one. That transparency is rare.
Bottom Line: Highly recommend this for anyone looking to elevate their ethnic wardrobe.

WHAT’S INSIDE?
WHAT’S INSIDE?
Just one ingredient — 100% whole-leaf organic green tea, spring flush.
No added flavouring, no blending, no preservatives, no broken leaf or dust. Pan-firing halts oxidation immediately, so chlorophyll, EGCG, catechins and L-theanine stay at harvest levels. Whole leaves can be re-steeped up to three times, each infusion revealing a different character. Approx. 125 servings per 250g pouch.
HOW WE SOURCE IT
HOW WE SOURCE IT
Our green tea comes from certified organic gardens on the North Bank of the Brahmaputra Valley at 102m elevation — a single origin, single estate, with no blending across gardens or seasons.
The gardens are surrounded by forest, which provides natural pest management and removes any need for synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilisers. Annual rainfall of 2,500–3,500mm from monsoon and Himalayan runoff does the irrigating.
We buy only the spring flush — the year's first growth, hand-plucked as two leaves and a bud, when EGCG and L-theanine are at their peak. Every batch is pan-fired and hand-rolled in small lots, then tested for pesticide residues, heavy metals and microbiological safety before packing.
